What pH level do mississippi map turtles require?

I have a baby thats 3.5 inches across. The pH is currently about 7.8, presumably because i have fed him some feeder fish in there and the pet store said that made for acidic conditions. Now I got some fish that the pet store told me require 8.2. What can my turtle handle?
