Yahoo chat frustrates me! Is it just desperate men and bots that go in them?

All I ever get in them is loads of IMs pop up with bots inviting me to pages or men asking me if I am male and when I say I am, they just end the conversation. Even in the family chat rooms, anyone know a room I can actually go in for a chat?
