Has anyone here studies Psychology and if so, do you understand the idea of Psychological projection?

I've graduated in Psychology and yes I learned about projection but that was in highschool. If you're are Muslim and are studying Psychology at a high level, as for a career I hope you understand that Freudian theory could not be something we Muslims could work with (Oedipal complex ya know and all the rest). In any case the topic of defense mechanism was kind of interesting because we all have experienced them sometime in our life.
